Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The consultation call and the PermitFacts report are separate services. The consultation is designed to discuss a property, answer questions, and help determine whether a full report would be beneficial. If you would like both services, you can select the PermitFacts Bundle, which includes the report and consultation at a discounted price.

The consultation call is a 30-minute discussion where we review your questions about a property, explain potential permit concerns, and help you understand what information may be available from the jurisdiction. The PermitFacts report is a detailed research report that includes permit history findings, red flags, and documentation obtained from the city or county.

In some cases, jurisdictions may charge fees to retrieve or copy public records, such as construction plans, inspection reports, or archived documents. If these fees apply, they will be the responsibility of the customer. PermitFacts will always notify you before any additional records request fees are incurred.

If no permit records are found through the jurisdiction, PermitFacts will note this in the report and document the research performed and results of the records search. In some cases, the absence of permit records may indicate that permits were not required, records are archived or unavailable, or that work may have been completed without permits. The report will explain the research performed and any relevant follow-up questions.
